TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE
Based on recent statistics, we are losing World War II veterans at the rate of approximately 340 per day. Honor Flight San Antonio will continue do whatever it takes to fulfill the dreams of our veterans and help our heroes travel absolutely free to visit their Memorial. In the future, the Honor Flight San Antonio Network will also pay tribute to America’s other heroes who served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, followed by veterans of more current wars. They, too, have given so much and it’s time we show them that their efforts are not forgotten. We will announce when we start taking applications for Korean War and Vietnam War Veterans on our Honor Flight San Antonio website and Facebook page.
The Honor Flight San Antonio mission is to transport veterans with a specific priority given to those residing within the counties listed below to Washington, D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices and return them home to their families and loved ones.
Honor Flight San Antonio serves Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, and Wilson counties, as well as all the surrounding South Texas counties southeast to Calhoun, south to Cameron, southwest to Webb, and west to Val Verde counties.
HONORING ALL OUR VETERANS-ONE MORE TOUR
Honor Flight San Antonio, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, knows that our veteran heroes aren’t asking for recognition. It is our position that they deserve it. Our program is just a small token of our appreciation for those that gave so much. All members of Honor Flight San Antonio are volunteers; 97% of your contributions go toward their flight to Washington, D.C. Please help us continue to make their dream of visiting THEIR memorial, a reality. Honor Flight San Antonio — our way of saying to all our veterans — one more TOUR with HONOR. All donations are tax-deductible.
WHAT WE DO AND WHY
MISSION STATEMENT: Transport America’s veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices.
GOAL: Helping every single veteran in America, willing and able of getting on a plane or a bus, visit THEIR memorial.
PRIORITY: Top priority is given to America’s most senior heroes — survivors of World War II and any veteran with a terminal illness who wishes to visit THEIR memorial. The program will naturally transition to Korean War, Vietnam War and all other veterans who served, on a chronological basis.
ELIGIBILITY: All men and women serving stateside or overseas.
PHILOSOPHY: Since America felt it was important to build a memorial to the service and the ultimate sacrifice of her veterans, the Honor Flight Network believes it’s equally important that they actually get to visit and experience THEIR memorial.
MOTTO: “We can’t all be heroes. Some of us have to stand on the curb and clap as they go by.” – Will Rogers
